[Spending time in Tides had been interesting, exciting, but ultimately exhausting. Heizou had never considered that he might actually miss his cosy, quiet apartment but after a couple of days in the bustle of that bright metropolis he had started to all but yearn for it.
And, now that the two of them are back, the time they spent in that underwater city almost feels like a distant dream.
Heizou stretches himself out against Moriarty's side as they rest on the couch (Heizou's idea, and his partner is forever weak to his wheedling), then moves his arm up so he can catch hold of the long ahoge on top of the other man's head and toy with it between his fingers.]
I don't think I've ever been somewhere so busy... [But he'll go back, there's no doubt about that. It's a whole new set of mysteries to explore!] I'm sure my ears are still ringing.
[It's comfortable, where he is. He had half thought to turn into a cat (he has, sometimes, just to curl up against the detective after long days), but he's happy being by himself, here. It's warm.]
You've never been to a city like that? That's not an uncommon experience, there.
[He personally isn't into it himself, more accustomed to the calm and quiet of the libraries and shadows of the alleyways, but he knows its nature like the back of his hand. Cities are like living organisms. They can be hijacked like a parasite hitching a ride on a grand animal. He makes a little face at the ahoge tweaking, his hand raised a little as if he means to bat him away.]
[He's heard stories, read things in books, about cities on the mainland that are far larger than Inazuma City but he's never travelled outside of the islands to see them. Tides completely boggled his mind with its sheer size and how many people lived there, the height of the buildings and how beautiful everything was.
And he's glad he got to spend that time with Moriarty, even if he was a bit grumpy about it.]
I expect I'll go back there. There might be any number of mysteries waiting to be solved.
[If only there was a more convenient way to get there.]
And it was far more pleasant to look at than Jigoku-cho.
How very strange. I suppose this means there are many things in the great wide world that will astound you.
[That city was a right mess. Crime, filth, sin - all wrapped up in some kind of grimy film that caked on everything. Moriarty sighs, his gloved hand moving to brush some strands of hair behind the other's ear.]
It was, but I will say...that city of Jigoku-cho is more comforting to me than not. Even part of me misses it. It reminds me of London.
[Heizou can admit that in the very least as he idly plays with the other man's hair, and nor will he disagree with the idea that he may be easily astounded by many things. He often is, as much as he's able to cover it in most cases, though he doesn't tend to lie about such things to Moriarty.
Not in private, at least.
He leans his head against the fingers brushing through his hair, his gaze soft and affectionate.]
Unless you were dealing with me, that is. I always seemed to be throwing you off-balance.

I'm alright. No repeat of that incident. I suppose none of the like has happened with you, either.
no subject
I'm glad to hear that. And yes I'm safe from all that, and I haven't seen any other cases in anyone else, so it seems to have passed through.
no subject
Do these sorts of things happen often? These...effects.
no subject
Yes. It's all about the potential and connections here, so anything that lends to interaction and vulnerability is what Thirteen is after, it seems.
... At least it's not boring.
no subject
Boring? Well, it depends on the people you interact with. Some people here are as exciting as wet mud.
no subject
Really? I hope I don't bore you either. I couldn't bear it.
( What is it about him that makes Ko want to tease. He's normal he's fine. )
no subject
For saying that maybe I should insist that you are the most boring of all. I would watch paint dry instead of talking with you.
no subject
Got it.
He's sort of like Raiga, isn't he? At least in a way, though his friend here doesn't outright tell him he hates him.
Yet. )
Oh no. I just told you I can't bear the idea of being boring. How can I possibly make it up to you?
Anyway I'm glad you're well.
no subject
Yes, yes, I'm well. Thanks, I suppose.
